ENVIROCELL TRAINING

ONE DAY ON-SITE SEMINAR FOR PRODUCTION PERSONNEL

PRACTICAL PAPERMAKING CHEMISTRY

This seminar is aimed at production personnel who may have little or no formal knowledge of chemistry, but who may have accumulated a lot of practical know-how over the years of working around paper machines. It may also be quite useful as an introductory refresher to others who may have had some chemical training, but who have been away from this area for some time. Although the emphasis throughout is on the practical side of papermaking chemistry, some of the underlying fundamental principles (particularly on colloid and polymer chemistry) are touched on to make sure that the foundations of papermaking chemistry are appreciated. The concept at the heart of optimising wet end chemistry is retention, which is taken as a central pivot for many of the discussions in each of the linked sessions.
