ACTIVITIES The
guiding principle of Envirocell's consultancy services is working with
client project teams to provide specific expertise otherwise lacking in-house
and thus ensure that the optimum solution is identified and implemented. This
approach is consistent with the total quality management (TQM) approach being
used by many companies to drive their businesses forward and to develop
partnerships with their suppliers and customers. The nature of the external
assistance required varies enormously depending on the internal resources
available. The
traditional approach to consultancy work is for the consultant to visit the
client site in order to discuss the problem and work programme at first hand
and to get a physical feel for the scope of the operation. Whilst this can be
invaluable, it is not absolutely essential if the consultant is experienced
and familiar with the operation of paper mills. This sort of remote
consultancy where the consultant does not visit the location is possible
today due to the fact that most types of information (spreadsheet data,
photographs, etc) can be sent rapidly as email attachments and an electronic
dialogue can be conducted in not far from real time. This can save time,
money and all the negative impacts associated with travel. Envirocell's
